Alston House, Old Church Street, Chelsea
Private Client
Alston House, formerly Carlyle House, is a significant historical property in Chelsea’s Chenye Conservation Area, known for its rich history and architectural heritage. Once divided into four single-floor rental flats, our client sought to return to the area while maintaining a steady revenue stream.
Our innovative strategy transformed this iconic property by building a new basement with a garden, enhancing the ground floor garden, and creating an additional roof garden with delightful views across London. This enabled us to convert the house into two spacious duplexes and one single apartment, seamlessly blending modern luxury with historical charm. Quality materials were used throughout, reflecting the high standard of the surrounding area. These included extra-wide oiled solid oak floors, marble bathrooms, and innovative lighting solutions.
